Post: Outdoor Assistant (Non-Civil Service Vacancy)

Salary: HK$861 per day (9 net working hours per day)

Entry Requirements:

Candidates should –

  1. obtain education level at Secondary 3;
  2. be able to speak fluent Cantonese and read simple Chinese; and write simple Chinese or simple English. Knowledge of spoken English would be an advantage; and
  3. hold valid driving licence (Hong Kong Driving Licence Class Code (1, 2 & 18)) for at least 5 years.

Obtaining at least 1 year's driving duty experience in carrying passengers in the past 2 years is an advantage.

Notes:

  1. Appointed candidates will be under full-time employment. The exact office hours will be subject to the operational need of the office.
  2. Selected candidates may be required to provide a copy of the Certificate of Previous Conviction Record issued by the Hong Kong Police Force.
  3. Selected candidates will be arranged to attend a Manual Medium Goods Vehicle driving test to be held in Late August 2024 for applying the Government Driving Permit. Prior to the appointment, the selected candidate should have obtained a pass in the driving test.
  4. Selected candidates will be required to attend a trade test (lifting and transporting a 19 litres distilled carboy from one corner of the interview room to the other).

Duties:

Outdoor Assistants will be mainly responsible for –

  1. performing driving duty for conveying passengers and delivery of documents;
  2. cleansing and the maintenance of vehicle; and
  3. performing general office work as instructed.

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year with the first three months as the probationary period. Further renewal of contract will be subject to the candidates' performance and the service needs of OFCA.

Fringe Benefits:

  1. A gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
  2. Rest days, statutory holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted on terms not less favourable than the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

If candidates submit the old version form G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
