OFCA and the Guangdong Communications Administration (GDCA) held a bilateral meeting in Guangzhou on 9 September 2024. The two delegations, led respectively by Mr Chaucer Leung, Director-General of Communications, and Mr Cai Li-zhi, Director-General of GDCA, shared the latest developments in the telecommunications markets and discussed issues of common interest, including measures against telecommunications scam, facilitation of laying new submarine cable systems, cooperation in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, etc. On 10 September, OFCA’s delegation also visited major telecommunications operators in Guangdong and discussed their latest development.
