The CA continued to support the annual "Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day" this year. Jointly organised by the Civil Aid Service, 19 other government departments, mountaineering organisations and medical groups, the "Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day 2016" was held at the Piazza of Kowloon Park on 6 November 2016 to enhance public awareness of mountaineering safety through various activities. Same as in previous years, the CA set up a booth at the venue to promote different means of maintaining effective communications in country parks in emergencies through interesting games and demonstrations of communications devices.
On the day, two representatives from OFCA, Mr KK Wong, Telecommunications Engineer, and Mr KC Fung, Assistant Controller of Telecommunications, also gave a talk at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre to share with participants practical advice on safe communications in country parks.
