CommBo | : | Many calls are delivered through telecom networks every day. To combat phone deception, OFCA has been working with telecom service providers and the Police to devise and implement feasible technical measures. Incoming calls from outside Hong Kong will be prefixed with the “+” sign. For overseas incoming calls prefixed with “+852”, mobile users will receive a voice or text alert before answering the call. Everybody should always stay vigilant. |
Superscript | : | Call is from outside Hong Kong. Beware of deception. |
CommBo | : | Telecom service providers will also block suspicious “+852” calls originating from outside Hong Kong. Once a suspected scam call pattern is detected, the service of the telephone number will be suspended. Suspected scam numbers will also be blocked based on Police information. With such a vast number of phone calls, apart from counting on us, you can also play a part! Don’t answer suspicious calls and never disclose your personal information or transfer money. Use incoming call filtering services or applications to screen suspicious calls or marketing calls! Together, we say NO to phone scams. |
