Since July 2011, personal or residential users entering into new telecommunications service contracts or renewing their telecommunications service contracts have been afforded enhanced protection with the implementation of the Industry Code of Practice for Telecommunications Service Contracts (the "Industry Code") by all major fixed and mobile network operators. Further to the first revision of the Industry Code in 2014, the latest revised version of the Industry Code as issued by the Communications Association of Hong Kong has been effective since 1 October 2023 to further protect consumer interests.
