New T&T Hong Kong Limited hereby publishes the following new services and revision to its existing Tariffs pursuant to its Fixed Telecommunication Network Services Licence with effect from 28 February 1997:

1.   Call Answer (Previously called "Call Answering")

The following shall replace the existing Tariff on Call Answering:

Call Answer features will be provided to Customers with New T&T's Direct Plus, Homeline, Business Plus and Centrex services. Call Answer is a network based telephone answering service which enables a Customer's caller to leave a message in a voice mailbox for the Customer when the called number is busy or unattended. Minimum subscription period is 3 months.

Available features:

Basic:

Provides mailbox capacity of up to 20 messages, with maximum of 3 minutes duration and 14 days storage
(b)
English or Cantonese Language option
(c)
Messaging Waiting Indication
(d)
Remote Retrieval of Messages

Enhanced:

(a)
40 Message Mailbox
(b)
99 Message Mailbox
(c)
Message Alert
(d)
Sub Mailbox
(e)
Guest Mailbox

Packages:

(a)
Call Answer on Hunting lines 1 - provides Call Answer on a Business Plus or Centrex hunt group with call forwarding, mailbox provisioning as prime number, extra storage (40 messages) and Message Alert.
(b)
Call Answer on Hunting lines 2 - as for Call Answer on Hunting lines 1 and Sub Mailbox facilities.

The following Special Conditions shall apply to Call Answer:

(a)
Customers are required to initialise their Call Answer function in accordance with instructions in the User Guide before use.

(b)
Customers are unable to receive messages if they have exceeded their mailbox storage capacity as stated in the User Guide.

2.   IDD007 Prepaid Card

Hong Kong Connect and World Connect features are now available on IDD007 Prepaid Card ("Prepaid Card"). The Hong Kong Connect feature enables Customers to call Hong Kong from the countries and at the rate of charges specified below:

World Connect feature enables Customers to call from a country specified in the Hong Kong Connect to any of the destination countries for outgoing calls from Hong Kong. The rate of charges will be the aggregate of the charges for calls on Hong Kong Connect and calls from Hong Kong to the destination country.

Unless otherwise specified the charging mechanism and terms and conditions for the Prepaid Card shall remain unchanged.

3.   Extended Warranty on Centrex Terminal Equipment

Customers who have purchased Centrex Terminal Equipment from New T&T ("CTE") may apply for extension of the warranty on their CTE prior to expiration of the current term of the warranty. The following Special Conditions shall apply:

3.1   Each extension shall be for a term of 1 year ("Minimum Term") immediately following the expiration of the previous warranty term irrespective of the frequency or method of payment elected by the Customers.

3.2 New T&T may reject any application for extension of warranty or terminate such warranty during the warranty period if:

(a)
the CTE in question is not under any warranty program from New T&T for whatever reasons prior to the date of application for extended warranty; or

(b)
the CTE in question (including any refurbishment or replacement thereof) has been purchased from New T&T for 5 years or over; or

(c)
New T&T has reasons to believe that the CTE has not been used for purpose for which it was prescribed; or

(d)
the Customer is in breach of the warranty's terms including failure to make payments on their due date.

3.3 During the warranty period, New T&T will, at its own option and cost, replace and repair the CTE or any parts of the CTE except replacements and repairs caused by any of the following events:

INVOICES

(a)
accident, negligence or improper use of the CTE or any part of the CTE;

(b)
modification, repair or alteration made to the CTE by persons not authorised by New T&T;

(c)
removal or relocation of CTE without the approval of New T&T; or

(d)
non compliance of the environmental conditions for the installation or use of the CTE.

3.4 New T&T shall be entitled to charge the Customer repair or replacement cost and other testing or handling charges in respect of the CTE or any part of the CTE not covered by the warranty. New T&T shall also be entitled to charge a minimum amount of $300.00 for each service call made to a Customer's premises, if it is discovered that the CTE requested to be service has been connected to a fixed line not operated by New T&T, and which has caused the CTE not to function, or function properly.

3.5 The warranty will be rendered invalid automatically if:

(a)
any alteration, modification or repair is made to the CTE without the authorisation of New T&T;

(b)
any parts not approved by New T&T have been used in connection with the CTE;

(c)
the serial number on the CTE have been removed, defaced or altered; or

(d)
the CTE is re-sold or transferred by the Customer without the prior written approval of New T&T.

3.6 The following charges for extended warranty shall apply:

Charges may be made monthly or one year in advance. Any termination by the Customer or by New T&T as a result of default by the Customer prior to expiration of the Minimum Term, the Customer shall be liable to pay cancellation charge equals to sum of monthly charges multiplied by the number of months remaining in the Minimum Term.

All services referred to above are subject to New T&T's General Terms and Conditions of Service.
