- To minimise the inconvenience that may be caused to the public by marketing calls, 12 trade associations from seven industries, namely finance, insurance, telecommunications, call centres, beauty, estate agencies and money lenders, have participated in the Industry Regulatory Scheme for Marketing Calls and issued their Codes of Practice on Person-to-Person Marketing Calls for industry regulation of telemarketing practices, including requiring telemarketers to provide their names and contact numbers upon recipients' requests, as well as limiting the number of calls made by telemarketers to the same telephone number within a specific time frame.
- To raise public awareness of the Industry Regulatory Scheme for Marketing Calls and encourage industries’ participation, Office of the Communications Authority has launched a logo of the scheme for use by the participating associations and their members to showcase their efforts and commitments in proactively regulating telemarketing calls.
