The upcoming 5G era will bring Enhanced Mobile Broadband Services, with download speeds 10 to 20 times faster than that of 4G, and Massive Machine Type Communications which support communications of up to one million smart devices per square kilometre. 5G also supports Ultra Reliable and Low Latency Communications, with latency as low as 1 millisecond. The Communications Authority has assigned radio spectrum for mobile network operators to develop innovative communications services and applications for the public and the industrial and commercial sectors. Various 5G services and applications will be progressively available in 2020. The Future is Today. |
