What have taken you so long? |
Red Tone | : |
When I was about to leave home, a sales person promoting broadband services knocked on my door. |
Blue Tone | : |
Is the offer attractive? |
Red Tone | : |
Since I was in a rush, I have signed the contract without thinking it through. On further thought, I would rather not subscribe to the service. |
Lambert | : |
That is fine. After the implementation of the Industry Code of Practice for Telecommunications Service Contracts, service users can now enjoy at least seven days of cooling-off period if the service contract is signed during an unsolicited sales visit. Unless you have started using the service, accepted the gifts offered by the operator, or agreed to curtail the cooling-off period because of some other reasons, otherwise you may cancel your contract during the cooling-off period without the need to pay any charges. |
Blue Tone | : |
Please call the operator quickly to check whether your cooling-off period is still valid, so as to give yourself more time to consider whether you really need the broadband service. |
Lambert | : |
Remember not to give up lightly your rights during the cooling-off period just because of the sales person's persuasion during the doorstep visit or the gifts offered. |

Got it! |
